This weekend’s message didn't come from archetypal guides.

Today it came from life.

2 weeks from now, I’ll be flying off to the beach with my mom and grandmother.

I'm so excited because I live 550 miles apart from them, and I haven't been to the beach in years (and I love love the beach).

It was all ready and set: tickets and hotels.

Until it was not.

Out of nowhere (nothing is out of nowhere) the airline changed flights and required me to check the reservations to accept or decline the changes.

As I entered the reservations, I realized one of them was canceled.

I had bought the flight tickets through Booking, so I reached out to them to understand why one reservation was canceled with the airline, while on their website everything seemed ok. That's when things got weird(er).

The agent (let's call him T) right away barely said hi, and really showed he didn't want to help, he just wanted to be done.

All I explained, he was like "you should contact the airline".

But I knew it wasn't the airline. I knew it was something with Booking.

After asking him some questions I understood what happened: Booking put 2 reservations under one name (mine) with the airline, so one of them got automatically canceled by them. Leaving one person with no reservation.

I explained this to T. He understood it was Booking's shit. And guess what he did?

Tried to gaslight me into thinking I had input the wrong info on their website to justify it 🙃.

But what he didn't expect was: I knew it wasn't true, and I had proof (email, and Booking's page).

He then understood he couldn't escape it.

But he wanted to get rid of me asap, so he sent my case to another department.

And the case is still unresolved.

But why tf am I telling you this? - You might be asking.

First, don't buy flights on Booking. Just kidding, don't know yet. We'll see.

Now, I believe nothing happens on occasion, so after this, I thought: what is this trying to show me?

And what came on strong to me was:

In life, unfortunately people will test us first to decide how they're going to proceed with us.

So,

They'll gaslight us a little first to check if we don't know our truth.

They'll offer us little first to check if we don’t know our worth (what we deserve).

They'll abuse us a little first to check if we don’t have our boundaries up.

Depending on how we respond, that's how they're going to treat us.

Not everyone. But a lot of people, yes.

You and I have lots of stories to tell on this.

And that’s why we've got to be solid and clear in our truth, our worth, our values,and our boundaries.

So that when people come testing us, we’ll let them know.
